Ad copy has three seconds. That is the rough window before the reader decides whether to keep scrolling. In those three seconds, the copy has to identify the audience (signal that the ad is for them), communicate the value (why this is worth stopping for), and introduce a reason to click. Three things, three seconds.

The mechanics of that three-second window differ across platforms. Facebook and Instagram ads interrupt a leisure context and need to stop the pattern. LinkedIn ads appear in a professional context where direct, business-case language works differently from consumer ads. Google search ads operate in active-search intent where matching the search phrase and demonstrating specificity matters more than creative originality.
